Internet problems

Jun 2nd, 2013

We’ve been having some problems with our internet connection, and it was down from Tuesday this week, until yesterday. It came up very briefly on Thursday, so I was able to download some orders, but I know a few were left on the server. We seem to have a pretty stable connection now, so hopefully we’re back in business! I suspect none of you noticed anyway, and have been enjoying the great weather we’re having!

Little House Needleworks Song of the Seasons Mystery

May 15th, 2013

Wow, what a few months it’s been. We’re in and settled; still wading through boxes, of course, but we’re putting our own touches on the place and taking out as much concrete as we can. I swore when I moved to the country that the garden would have NO CONCRETE. I chose the wrong house, but it’s nothing that a jackhammer and lots of words of encouragement (to my husband, the wielder of the jackhammer) won’t solve.

In the first few days, we were woken by the sheep in the paddock behind our garden and the incredibly loud dawn chorus, but it’s much better than ambulances and drunken art students. I will try to get some photos up of our progress soon.

But I do want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience over the last few months. I’ve dropped so far behind on so many things, not least the auto ships, and you’ve all been so understanding and patient, I can’t thank you enough.

Now, onto the good stuff! I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Little House Needleworks Mystery starting in June (July for us, with unavoidable 2 week holiday in customs), and it will be available here at the Patchwork Rabbit. We have an auto, as usual.

This mystery will be in 3 parts (July, August and September) and will use 13 skeins of Weeks Dye Works threads and be worked on a fat 1/6 of 30ct Straw. You can also choose to have 35ct and 40ct.

The design size will be 151H x 178W which is approximately 11” H x 12”W when stitched on the 30ct linen.

The sneak peek looks just gorgeous and I think I may find myself stitching this one as well!

Very quick update

Apr 17th, 2013

We’re in! It’s been a long few days, but all our belongings (save some potted plants stored with friends) are now in Wiltshire. Unfortunately, we don’t have internet access yet, so I’m posting this from our new local pub, the Ivy in Heddington. BT are being their usual speedy selves and it seems that we won’t have the interweb until Wednesday next week. I will be available to take calls, but I won’t be able to process any orders until then.

Now, as for the Little House Mystery, yes we WILL be doing it, more news soon.

Speak soon from Windy, Wet Wiltshire.

The Big Move update

Apr 2nd, 2013

First of all, let me please take a moment to thank all of your for your patience during the last 8 weeks. I have not had the time to dedicate to you that I would like, auto ships are running a little late and personal orders are taking longer than usual and I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly for it. I’ve really found this whole process to be incredibly stressful, but your kind words, support and faith in me have really helped me through it. Thank you all so much!

Now, the bad news is that we still have yet to exchange contracts, despite everyone in the chain having agreed on the 12th of April as moving day. That’s a week on Friday. We are waiting for one final party to get their contract back to their solicitor and we’re assured that we should exchange by the end of the week. I really hope so because we had to give a month’s notice on our Virgin telephone and tv package as our new house is Sky only, so, as of today, we have no television! Oh no! Just as all the good Spring telly is starting, too. Our shop line is still up, but I’ve taken the number off the website as we can’t take the number with us. Please contact me on my mobile, if you need to reach me.

The shop will close on Friday for two weeks (6th to 22nd of April)  to allow me to pack all the stock, stationery and the computer and disassemble all the shelves and thread racks. It’s going to be a huge job and I’m not looking forward to it! I’ve allowed a week at the other end to get the shop back up and running, but I’m hoping it won’t take that long, particularly as there will be the next parts of Little Sheep and Santa’s Village to ship!

I’m actually not enjoying being in my little house that much anymore as all my ornaments, pictures, photos and stitcheries have all been packed away. All of the china and glassware, save a few drinking glasses, are all packed, and we’re cleaning out the fridge and freezer of perishables. We’re almost down to ready meals for the remainder of our stay here. I’ve never had to move a whole house before (I’ve moved a lot, but either only as a child or suitcases as a teenager); it’s much harder than I thought.

I’ll also be leaving my son here as he’s at college studying business studies, but he hopes to go to university at Bath next year.

We snuck in a little trip down to our new village over the weekend, to introduce the dogs to the area and they absolutely loved it save for the interminable hell of being on the lead in the pub (our new local!) while we had lunch. We made it up to them by taking the to Avebury for a long walk round the stones. I don’t think they’ve ever experienced farmland smells before and they were crazy with it. Even our old girl Molly was pulling at the lead with excitement. We didn’t think she had it in her anymore!

I’ll post occasionally to keep you updated. I have a progress report of And They Sinned anyway, if I haven’t packed the camera charger!

Thanks again for your patience, and we’ll speak soon.

Little Sheep Virtues update

Feb 8th, 2013

Just super quick post (don’t seem to have 2 minutes to, erm, rub together these days) to say that Little Sheep is being packed and is due to start shipping tomorrow! YAY! I don’t have the wool in yet, but that will follow in the next shipment. Time to get your stitch on, ladies!

Auto ship (and other) updates

Jan 24th, 2013

Hi all! First of all, I just wanted to thank you all again so much for your patience during my office move (I’ve only lost a few things!). We still have the big move to do, but the house is on the market and generating lots of interest. We’re now in the phase of keeping the house spotless for the droves of viewings (18 booked, so far).

Anyway, on to the fun stuff: I have (finally!) put up the sign up sheets for Little House Needleworks’ Little Sheep Virtues and the Blue Ribbon Spring Mystery Sampler. I hope the pages are all self explanatory, but if anything is unclear, please let me know!

I’ve also had a request about the Lizzie*Kate Jingles Ornament series, which I’ll be doing a sign up for soon.

Happy stitching!

Battle stations

Jan 14th, 2013

Hi all, I just wanted to do a very quick post to let you all know what’s up. Basically, my husband’s company has moved him to Wiltshire, which is a dream move for us as we’ve wanted to move South West for ages. However, it’s proving to be a major upheaval and far more work than we could have dreamed and it’s consuming considerably more time than I would like!

So, please let me say right now, I’m very sorry for any delays in emails and particularly in sorting out the sign ups, and in some cases, shippings, for the clubs. I will absolutely get caught up this week, I promise!

We’ve taken out a storage facility and have moved loads of stuff in there and our house is just starting to look like a normal person’s house LOL I’m afraid I’m to blame as the majority of it is my books and my sewing stuff. I’ve been quite ruthless with getting rid of some half finished projects and so on, but I’ve also got a few unstarted projects which I’m going to be giving away here, over the next few months, so keep an eye out!

I think the hardest thing to deal with is the amount of work we need to do to the place. The snagging list we’ve drawn up is quite long and a little depressing :-( But we’re plowing through the jobs and enlisting the services of professionals for the big/technical stuff and it’s all starting to come together.

Finally, I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
